As musculoskeletal physiotherapists we use a grading system of 1-5(I-V) to gauge the range of the technique. Most joints will respond well to the grades I-IV and will not need a grade V. Occasionally we do apply grade V mobilisation, which is then known as a manipulation. Our therapists are highly skilled when it comes to Grade V applications.
